Rethinking Reading: How One District Transformed Instruction (SmartBrief)Discover how a bold shift in reading instruction helped struggling learners thrive - and the critical role Readable English played in their success. |
At Readable English, we want to make reading and understanding content as simple as possible. That’s why we’ve created three powerful conversion tools, giving you flexibility in how text is converted and viewed. Whether you’re browsing the web, reading a document, or working with PDFs, there’s a tool to suit your needs. Let’s explore them:
The Readable Web browser extension allows you to convert web pages into Readable English text instantly. To use it:
Make sure you are logged into your Readable English account.
Search for “Readable Web” in the Chrome Web Store and follow the installation prompts.
Pin the extension icon to your browser for easy access.
Click the icon whenever you visit a new web page to convert the text.
You can zoom in on pages for a larger view by pressing Control (or Command) + Plus. And if you want to remove the markings, simply refresh the page.
Our e-reader conversions come in two types: Free Text and Document Conversion.
Free Text Conversion: Simply copy and paste text (similar to Google Translate) and see it converted instantly.
Document Conversion: Upload documents such as Word files or PDFs to convert them.
All conversions are automatically saved in your library, where you can edit, share, and organize them in folders. Once converted, the text displays in the e-reader, complete with features like definitions, translations, and the option to turn off Readable English markings.
PDF conversions are designed to retain the original formatting of your documents. Converted PDFs are saved in the “External Documents” folder of your library, making it easy to share, organize, or manage them alongside your other files.
With these tools, accessing and understanding content in Readable English has never been easier. Whether students are reading online articles, personal documents, or PDFs, our conversion tools give them the power to access grade-level content immediately.
