What if struggling readers could confidently read age-appropriate content in as little as 2.5 hours?

In languages that are fully phonetic, students often learn to read in about a year. At Readable English, we’ve harnessed this approach to make English easier and faster to learn, reducing the time it takes to achieve reading proficiency by up to 75%.

How did we accomplish this?

1. We developed a unique mark-up to make the English language phonetic.

2. We created a comprehensive dictionary of over 100,000 marked up words.

Readable English offers a suite of conversion tools designed to give educators and students the flexibility to convert a range of document types. This empowers students with customized learning resources to access and engage with grade level content.

Browser extension – Converts web content into the Readable English format, making any website or online text accessible.
Online conversion tools – Applies the markup to free text and documents (including PDFs), enabling existing curriculum materials to be converted.

Once text has been converted into Readable English using the conversion technology, it can be printed and used offline.

This includes existing consumable print resources (such as worksheets, tests and quizzes).

Three independent, peer-reviewed studies on the effectiveness of Readable English show, on average, students using Readable English improve at twice the rate of students in control groups, for both reading fluency and comprehension.

Student growth is monitored using the Lexile® Framework by Metametrics, Inc.
