The length of the Listening Comprehension benchmark is based on a student's grade level.
The Beginning of Year (BOY) benchmark assessment is administered by grade level. The benchmark assessment includes:
- Grades 2 & 3: 12 passages, 24 questions
- Grades 4 & 5: 13 passages, 27 questions
- Grades 6 to 8: 11 passages, 27 questions
Ongoing progress monitoring is then based on the student’s Listening Lexile Measure.
In the ongoing progress monitoring assessments, students will listen to 2 or 4 passages with 6 questions regardless of their grade level.
