Transform Your Classroom with Engaging, Interactive Learning Stations!

Written by Anna Boyle | Apr 22, 2025

Looking to make the most of your lesson time, even with limited tablets or computers? Here’s a strategy that brings every student into the action and keeps learning fresh and engaging: interactive rotation stations!

With our easy-to-set-up Rotation Stations, you’ll give students the chance to practice skills in a dynamic way. Perfect for the student-activities portion of your lesson, these stations keep students engaged, working at their own pace, and moving smoothly between activities. Here’s how it works:

STEP One:  Set Up Your Stations

Designate each activity as its own station. For example:
  • Online Worksheet / Independent Lesson: Apply learning with focused practice. Includes interactive, gamified learning with voice recognition for immediate feedback.
  • Games Station: Fun board games like Tic-Tac-Toe or Vowel Vortex that students play together to reinforce their sounds and glyph knowledge.
  • Assessment: A dedicated quiet space for students to complete their progress monitoring assessments.
  • Teacher Station: Work with students to check glyph mastery, practice reading aloud, play games, or complete any of the other available resources.

STEP Two: Round Robin Style Rotation

Assign students to their first station, set a timer, and let the fun begin! When the timer finishes, students rotate to the next activity station, giving everyone a well-rounded learning experience. Continue until all stations are completed, and watch the excitement build with each activity change.

This setup not only maximizes the use of limited tech but also encourages active participation and collaborative learning.

Try the station-based approach in your classroom and see how easily it transforms your lesson into a lively, efficient learning experience!

Happy teaching!
